THE GROUNDED ATHLETE
Mental Skills + Mindset Training for Teen Athletes Ages 12–17
You train their body. Let’s train their mind, too.
Practices. Private lessons. Camps. Strength training. Travel teams. Equipment.
Young athletes spend countless hours developing the physical skills needed for their sport, but the mental side of the game needs practice, too.
What happens after the error they can’t stop thinking about? When nerves take over? When one mistake becomes three? When “I’m not good enough” gets louder than everything they’ve practiced?
The Grounded Athlete is an interactive, therapist-led program designed to help teen athletes build practical mental skills they can use in competition and in life.

TRAIN THE MENTAL SIDE OF THE GAME
Athletes will work on skills to help them:
RESET AFTER MISTAKES
Learn how to recover, refocus, and move into the next moment.
MANAGE PRESSURE
Practice grounding and regulation strategies for when emotions and nerves get big.
CHANGE THE SELF-TALK
Recognize unhelpful thoughts and develop believable, useful responses.
BUILD HEALTHY CONFIDENCE
Develop confidence that isn't dependent on having a perfect performance.
FOCUS ON THE CONTROLLABLES
Spend less mental energy on what they can't control and more on what they can.
BUILD IDENTITY BEYOND SPORT
Recognize the strengths and qualities they carry with them beyond the field, court, mat, pool, or gym.
TWO PARTS. ONE MENTAL GAME.
PART 1 — GET GROUNDED
4 Weeks | Notice • Ground • Reframe • Reset
Athletes learn the foundational skills for recognizing pressure, regulating their bodies, working through negative self-talk, and recovering after mistakes.
Athletes leave with their own Grounded Athlete Reset Plan.
PART 2 — BUILD YOUR MENTAL GAME
4 Weeks | Trust • Direct • Know • Own
Athletes take those skills further through confidence, perfectionism, pressure, controllables, identity, and developing their individualized approach to the mental game.
Athletes leave with their own Mental Game Plan + Toolkit.

THIS ISN’T ANOTHER CLASS.
Expect movement, games, challenges, real-life sports scenarios, group discussions, grounding exercises, reflection, and plenty of opportunities to practice.

Because knowing a skill is one thing.
Practicing it is what makes it usable when the pressure is on.
SKILLS FOR THE GAME. SKILLS FOR LIFE.
Learning to reset after an error builds resilience.
Learning to focus on what's controllable builds emotional regulation.
Learning to respond differently to negative thoughts builds self-awareness.
Learning that you're more than your performance builds identity.
We're training the mental game, but these are skills athletes can take far beyond their sport.
