ANIMAL ASSISTED THERAPY
Let’s face it, healing isn’t always linear, and sometimes talk therapy alone doesn’t quite reach the deeper layers. That’s where Animal-Assisted Therapy comes in. Whether it’s the quiet presence of a gentle dog or the steady gaze of a horse, animals have a way of grounding us, no judgment, just pure connection.

Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT) is a therapeutic approach that intentionally incorporates animals into the counseling process to support emotional, behavioral, and social growth. The presence of an animal can help reduce anxiety, lower stress, and create a greater sense of safety and comfort within sessions. For many clients—especially children—interacting with an animal can increase engagement, encourage emotional expression, and support skills such as mindfulness, empathy, and self-regulation. Animal-assisted therapy offers a gentle, relational pathway to healing by strengthening connection and supporting overall emotional well-being.
If you’re joining us virtually, your pets are welcome, too. We encourage clients to include their own animals in Telehealth sessions. Sometimes that purring cat or loyal pup is the exact grounding support you need. Want one of our dogs to join virtually? We can do that too. Just say the word, and we’ll beam a calming canine presence right into your screen.
Whether you’re feeling stuck, burnt out, or just know your kid needs something a little outside-the-box, this might be the reset you’ve been looking for. Complete with fresh air, four hooves, a wagging tail, and a whole lot of heart.
